Requirements to participate in NASCAR race

Here are the car requirements to race at NASCAR.

1) Engines.

Your car must have eight cylinders, a compression ratio of 12:1, a displacement no longer than 358 cubic inches, and a performance package that allows greater engine torque without compromising durability. All NASCAR racers also use carburetors and not fuel injectors. Thus resulting in varying horsepower production.

2) Body.

NASCAR requires the rear spoiler to be at 70 degrees. Although NASCAR race cars are based on Ford, Dodge, and Chevrolet, every team is free to customize the body type of their car. They use a synthetic fiberglass composite material to mold the shape of the car within the boundaries of the prescribed length and width of a race car.

3) Tires.

Goodyear is the official and exclusive tire supplier of NASCAR. They produce wide, treadless tires for NASCAR. However, they limit the number of tires the racers can use during the practice and qualifying rounds. They can only use 9 up to 14 set of tires. 

4) Gas Tank.

Gas mileage helps determine the winner in the competition that’s why it’s strictly regulated. The current fuel cell size is 22 gallons but they may shift to 18 gallons in the future.
